A 14-year-old girl gave birth to a female baby at a toilet in the Osmania General Hospital, Hyderabad and allegedly killed it soon after birth. Afzalgunj police said that the girl, a native of Chacha Nehrunagar in Mehdipatnam and a Class VIII student of Sandeep High School, had kept her pregnancy hidden from her parents.
But after she underwent labour pain, her parents brought her to OGH thinking she had stomach problems. Doctors who examined her told the parents that the teenager was pregnant and urged them to take her immediately to the Nayapul Maternity Hospital.
Even as the shocked parents were trying to gather their wits, the girl excused herself and went to the toilet. “She delivered a female baby in the toilet and walked out after about 30 minutes as if nothing had happened,” said Inspector P. Ramaseshiah. “Her parents took her to the Nayapul Hospital, where doctors said that she had just delivered a child.”
The girl was mum but after being questioned for an hour, she admitted that she gave birth to a baby and abandoned it in the OGH toilet. Police were alerted and rushed to OGH only to find that the baby was already dead.
“The girl was bleeding and was admitted in the maternity hospital for treatment,” the inspector said.
There are suspicions that some of the nursing staff at OGH might have assisted the girl in giving birth, since the placenta was surgically cut and tied. Police are not discounting the possibility that it might have been a stillborn baby. Meanwhile, the girl’s parents, Nagayya and Pusha, said that they were not aware of their daughter’s pregnancy. “We did not notice any physical changes in her,” they said.
Police booked a case against the girl under section 318 of IPC.

I am being charged with a felony for a digg story I submitted last month. It was the #1 dugg video for May 13, and was linked to YouTube telling about a Sony HDV camcorder that was stolen from me. The story showed the phone number of the theft suspect, which is illegal under Michigan law. I'm in trouble and the thief goes free---Be careful diggers!

Following my inability to get a straight answer on the question "Do I need to defrag my Mac?" I decided to find out for myself. I did a bit of research and there was certainly two sides to the argument. Armed with my iMac and a newly purchased copy of iDefrag 1.6.1, I set out to find out if it was useful or pointless to defrag my Mac.

Looking perhaps a bit like a gigantic owl monster, the cloud pictured above resulted from a series of flares released by an air force jet over the Atlantic Ocean in May. The jet that released the flares, a C-17 Globemaster III, is seen on the right. The flares release smoke and the resulting pattern is sometimes known as a smoke angel.

WE ALL INDIANS KNOW THAT THERE IS VARADI ( Bridge) BETWEEN INDIA AND SRILANKA WHICH WAS CONSTRUCTED BY " VANARA SENA " IN TRETA YUGA. BUT NOW NASA PEOPLE FIND IT THAT IT IS THERE AND THEY NAMED IT AS " ADAM BRIDGE " .
IS IT CORRECT TO CALL the ancient Bridge WITH THAT new and Alien Name???? THINK OF IT.
Will they ever accept if we change the name of the "London Bridge" as "Laxman Jhoola"? !!!?
NASA SHUTTLE IMAGES OF A MYSTERIOUS ANCIENT BRIDGE BETWEEN INDIA AND SRILANKA
Courtesy : NASA Digital Image Collection
The recently discovered bridge currently named as Adam's Bridge made of chain of shoals, c.18 mi (30 km) long, in the Palk Strait between India and Sri Lanka, reveals a mystery behind it. The bridge's unique curvature and composition by age reveals that it is man made. The legends as well as Archeological studies reveal that the first signs of human inhabitants in Sri Lanka date back to the a primitive age, about 17,50,000 years ago and the bridge's age is also almost equivalent. This information is a crucial aspect for an insight into the mysterious legend called Ramayana, which was supposed to have taken place in tretha yuga (more than 17,00,000 years ago). In this epic, there is a mentioning about a bridge, which was built between Rameshwaram (India) and Srilankan coast under the supervision of a dynamic and invincible figure called Rama who is supposed to be the incarnation of the supreme. This information may not be of much importance ! to the archeologist s who are interested in exploring the origins of man, but it is sure to open the spiritual gates of the people of the world to have come to know an ancient history linked to the Indian mythology.

Moving your eyes horizontally, from side-to-side, for about 30 seconds may be all it takes to give your memory a boost, according to researchers from Manchester Metropolitan University in England.
After hearing a list of words, the study found that those who moved their eyes side-to-side for 30 seconds correctly remembered more than 10 percent more words, and falsely recognized about 15 percent fewer "lure" words, compared to those who moved their eyes up and down or did nothing.
Why would moving your eyes influence your memory?
The researchers suspect it's because the horizontal eye movements cause the two hemispheres of the brain to interact more, and communication between the left and right brain hemispheres is known to help us remember certain things.
The researchers aren't sure whether the eye movements will help people in their daily lives ... but it's certainly worth a try the next time you've misplaced your keys or forgotten your grocery list at home!

Milk not only does the body good it may also help you quit smoking, says a study.
Consuming milk makes the taste of cigarette bad and by making a few modifications to the diet one can make quitting bit easier, said the study published in April 2007 issue of the journal Nicotine and Tobacco Research.
The study is said to be the first to explore the taste-altering effects of food and beverages on cigarette palatability.
The study examined 209 smokers and asked them to name items that worsen or enhance the taste of cigarettes.
Nineteen percent of them reported that dairy products, such as milk or cheese, worsen the taste of cigarettes; 14 percent reported non-caffeinated beverages, such as water or juice; and 16 percent reported fruits and vegetables.
Forty-four percent of them reported that alcoholic beverages enhance the taste of cigarettes; 45 percent reported caffeinated beverages, such as tea, cola and coffee; and 11 percent reported meat.
Identifying which components of foods and beverages ruin the taste of cigarettes could lead to new treatments to deter smoking, said co-investigator Jed E. Rose of the Duke University Medical Center study.
The researchers are now looking at the possibility of using the chemical silver acetate, known to alter the taste of cigarettes, to help smokers quit.
The additive could be given in the form of a gum or a lozenge as part of smoking cessation treatment, according to a science portal, EurekAlert.
